6 Kids + Alan = Fun Portrait
Who said never work with Kids….!
Alan – one of Studio SW19’s resident photographers recently had the challenge of capturing the personalities of 6 cousins on location at a local landmark, Shorncliffe Jetty. This local landmark and surrounds provide a fantastic backdrop and compliments any Family Portrait. Some would say photographing 6 children would be rather overwhelming but Alan took it all in his stride and came away with amazing results. Alan’s work is fantastic and really captures the personalities of the children. Let the results speak for themselves.

Interested in a Family Portrait Shoot…..give the team at Studio SW19 a call.

Alan has Fun with a Wedding in the Rain
The show goes on rain or shine and so when a couple book us for their wedding, we know they usually hope for fine sunny weather, and that’s what they usually get in this part of the world, but what if it rains? Well SW19 photographer Alan was shooting a lovely wedding when the heavens opened and the rain fell. There was no letting up and even the forecast was that it was going rain for another week!
Alan says “Contrary to popular belief that rain will spoil the wedding day, with us it could actually enhance it. Take my photograph below I think the rain and the clouds have actually benefited this image and given us some mood from the lovely soft light. When the bride and groom see we are making good images out of what most people describe as a bad day, they light up and have fun and guess what, this makes our job easier to get more stunning images. We had a ball in the rain so at SW19 we don’t worry about the possibility of rain but because we will just use it to our advantage”.
By the way, did you know that rain is lucky on your wedding day as a wet knot is harder to untie than a dry knot! Well, all we know is that we have fun in the rain and the photos reflect just that.

SW19 Raises $550 to Help Camera Club
Paul Copsey from Studio SW19 spent a fun packed day training keen amateur photographers on how to use and modify light in order to make a great photographs. We were delighted to raise a total of $550 which was given to Brisbane Camera Group. The team at SW19 are enthusiastic to support camera clubs and to promote the use of the camera as a “paint brush” to create works of art. The image on the right was taken of Paul by Lyn Stewart from the camera club. Lovely photo and use of light considering the subject you had to work with lyn!!!
If any of our clients or followers want to take better photographs, we strongly recommend joining a camera club. There are many great camera clubs around just use google to find them. We have visited camera clubs in Europe, Hong Kong and over Australia and we are always amazed at the welcome we receive and the quality of the training on offer.

Operation Viewing Room Renovations Complete!!!
We have some great news….the team at Studio SW19 is very pleased to announce the completion of our new Viewing Room renovations.
At Studio SW19 - we put you – our clients first! To maximise your enjoyment of viewing your beautiful photos, we have recently completed trebling the size of our Viewing Room. Sit back, relax and enjoy a beautiful coffee , whilst viewing the slideshow movie of your memorable wedding day or portrait session. Previously our screen was a mere 42 inchs…..now you will view your photos on a lifesize two (2) metre widescreen. This is fantastic news – providing you with the awesome opportunity of viewing your “real” photos at the actual size they would be when hung on your wall at home! You will be able to visualise how that blank wall at home will now look with your beautiful portrait in that space…..how simple is that! Remember….”Have it your way!”
Every photography session at Studio SW19 will be viewed in our new Viewing Room. We look forward to meeting you very soon.

“I enjoyed the day just as it was”.
“Everything in the sessions were extremely informative and motivating – I like the idea presented at the end of the session indicating another session specifically for those wishing to take the next step to Professional / Semi-Pro. This is a fantastic idea and would allow an expansion on the information covered in this session.”

"A Day With Paul Copsey" Seminar
“Photography through the eyes of a full time professional”
Today Paul facilitated his “A Day with Paul Copsey” Seminar. This seminar is designed to be quite unlike any the participants have previously attended. They experienced photography through the eye’s of Paul – a full time professional photographer - who has built up a successful business earning his living from photography. The day was interactive with participants encouraged to participate fully and was all about Paul’s personal approach to photography and offered an exciting insight into Paul’s many photography “secrets”.
The day with Paul Copsey included …..
- Lighting and equipment made easy;
- Visualising the image;
- How to take natural and posed images;
- How to manage people – the subject and the client;
- An insight to the business of photography;
- and much more !!!
Participants who attended the seminar were from varying backgrounds with varying photographic goals and aspirations. There were:-
- Amateur photographers intending to improve and gain an insight into the approach of a professional;
- Amateur photographers that shoot the odd wedding or portrait session for friends and family;
- Semi-Professional photographers who shoot some weddings or portraits and their main household income is derived from a non-photographic role;
- Photographers who aspire to becoming semi-professional or a full time professional.
It is hoped participants of the “A Day with Paul Copsey” Seminar went away with a real insight of what it is like to be a professional photographer and with inspiration towards their own photography and photographic goals!
Looking forward to receiving the feedback surveys!……Watch this space!!!
